Note that goals come in various sizes. 6’x6′ goals are standard for field lacrosse while smaller nets are typically used for box lacrosse, training and pickup games, or ages 7-10 before goalies are introduced. Hockey goals do not meet official game net dimensions but do make great training goals.

Lacrosse Rules
Our program emphasizes fostering competition and representation at the community level. While the number of rule sets can be confusing at first glance, most of our development league and local teams only play Olympic rules while our travel teams may play one of three rule sets (depending on tournament).

Olympic (6v6) rules overview: 5 field players and 1 goalie per team with. No field area restrictions for players and mostly played on fields 70 x 30 meters. Games typically last 30-40 minutes. Used by our development league (without goalies), local, and travel teams.
8v8 rules overview: 7 field players (2 attack, 3 midfield, 2 defense) and 1 goalie per team. Field area restrictions for attack and defense meaning five players from each team can be on one half of the field at any given time. Can be played on Olympic lacrosse or football lines. Potential introduction of long sticks for defense (Boys only). Used by our travel teams.
10v10 (Boys) and 12v12 (Girls) College rules have large roster requirements and additional field area restrictions for players on a larger field. May be used by our travel teams against larger opponents.
